This project is based on carbon fiber high-performance materials, focusing mainly on the production of carbon fiber materials for small aircraft and yacht applications, as well as general aviation aircraft as its core content.
Carbon fiber (carbon fiber, abbreviated as CF) is a new type of fibrous material with high strength and high modulus, containing more than 95% carbon. It is composed of microcrystalline graphite materials formed by stacking organic fibers such as lamellar graphite microcrystals along the fiber axis, obtained through carbonization and graphitization processes. Carbon fiber is lighter than aluminum metal by weight, yet its strength is higher than that of steel, and it features corrosion resistance and a high modulus. It is an important material in both national defense and military industries as well as civilian applications. It not only possesses the inherent intrinsic properties of carbon materials, but also combines the softness and processability of textile fibers, making it a new generation of reinforcing fiber.
Carbon fiber has many excellent properties: high axial strength and modulus, low density and high specific performance, no creep, resistance to ultra-high temperatures in non-oxidizing environments, good fatigue resistance, specific heat and electrical conductivity between those of non-metals and metals, a small coefficient of thermal expansion with anisotropy, good corrosion resistance, good X-ray permeability, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and strong electromagnetic shielding performance.
II. Engineering Construction and Resource Conditions
This project is based on carbon fiber high-performance composite material technology and extends along the industrial chain to production, marketing, and further downstream material-supply enterprises. Focusing primarily on the manufacture of small aircraft, yachts, and general aviation equipment, it aims to build a conceptual comprehensive general aviation industrial park in the central region. At the same time, by establishing aviation clubs and yacht clubs, it will create a customer-consolidation platform for downstream enterprises, ultimately achieving the maximization of profits from carbon fiber technology.
The total investment of the project is USD 329 million, of which the first-phase investment is USD 42.8571 million. It is planned to follow an overall schedule of a 2-year construction period and a 2-year mature operational development period, with the park’s development and operations implemented step by step in a planned manner.
III. Comprehensive Benefits
After the project is completed, it will directly attract and create nearly 10 production-supporting enterprises, 2 R&D enterprises, 3 warehousing and logistics transportation enterprises, 3 commercial service enterprises, and 1 financing service enterprise. Once operations are mature, the project will generate annual profits of nearly US$4.2857 million.
This new industrial model reduces the traditional dependence of economic development on material resources, promotes a transformation in the mode of economic growth, and represents an important industrial strategy for developed countries and regions in the post-industrial era.
