1. Basic Project Overview
This project is based on high-performance carbon fiber materials, and primarily focuses on the production of carbon fiber materials for small aircraft and yachts, as well as general aviation aircraft.
Carbon fiber (CF for short) is a new type of fiber material with a carbon content of over 95%, featuring high strength and high modulus. It is a microcrystalline graphite material obtained by stacking flake graphite microcrystals and other organic fibers along the fiber axis direction, followed by carbonization and graphitization treatment. Carbon fiber is lighter than metallic aluminum in mass, yet stronger than steel, and possesses characteristics such as corrosion resistance and high modulus. It is an important material in both national defense, military industries, and civilian applications. It not only has the inherent intrinsic properties of carbon materials, but also combines the softness and processability of textile fibers, making it a new generation of reinforcing fiber.
Carbon fiber has many excellent properties. It has high axial strength and modulus, low density, and high specific performance, with no creep. It can withstand ultra-high temperatures in non-oxidizing environments, has good fatigue resistance, and its specific heat and electrical conductivity lie between those of non-metals and metals. It has a small coefficient of thermal expansion with anisotropy, good corrosion resistance, and good X-ray permeability. It also features good electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as excellent electromagnetic shielding properties.
2. Engineering Construction and Resource Conditions
This project is based on carbon fiber high-performance composite material technology, extending from production and marketing to downstream enterprises in the materials supply industrial chain. It primarily focuses on the production of small aircraft, yachts, and general aviation equipment, aiming to build a conceptual comprehensive general aviation industrial park in the central region. At the same time, by establishing aviation clubs and yacht clubs, it will create an intensive platform for downstream enterprise clients, ultimately achieving the maximization of profits from carbon fiber technology. The total investment of the project is USD 329 million, of which USD 42.8571 million will be invested in the first phase. The overall plan is to allocate 2 years for construction and 2 years for mature operational development, implementing the park’s development and operation plan in a phased and systematic manner.
3. Comprehensive Benefits
After the project is completed, it will directly attract and create nearly 10 supporting manufacturing enterprises, 2 research and development enterprises, 3 warehousing and logistics transportation enterprises, 3 commercial service enterprises, and 1 financing service enterprise. Once the project reaches mature operation, it will generate an annual profit of nearly $4.2857 million. The new industrial form has changed the traditional economic development’s reliance on material resources and has promoted the transformation of economic growth patterns. It is an important industrial strategy for developed countries and regions in the post-industrial society.
